If you find yourself tossing and turning all night when you have your partner in bed with you, you may not have got used to the idea of having him by your side. We’ve rounded up five tips that will make it easier for you to get that much-needed shut-eye, while also enjoying his comforting presence in bed.
Invest in a big bed
A single bed won’t cut it. Invest in a king- or queen-sized bed if you want to sleep comfortably through the night. This way, you get to have your own space after you’re done cuddling.
Get separate blankets
It’s okay to not want to share a blanket with your better half. One of you is bound to start hogging the whole thing sooner or later. Get your own blanket and have your guy use another so neither of you have to spend a restless night.
Buy a pair of earplugs and eyeshades
Does your guy’s snoring keep you up all night? How about the fact that he loves working late with the night-lamp on? Simply buy a pair of earplugs and eyeshades that will let you catch a few winks.
Feel free to push him aside
Gently, of course. It can feel smothering sometimes to constantly have someone sleeping by your side, especially if you’re used to sleeping alone. But don’t let that keep you from snuggling with your SO. Just budge him aside!
Be the small spoon to his big one, or the other way around. It will allow you both to sleep comfortably, and cuddle the whole night through without losing any sleep.
